Japanese Maples, herbs, perennials and colorful ground cover are grouped rhythmically to make up the planting palette. From the front wooden gate, one sees the entry walk which consists of waterwashed flagstone stepping stones set level with the lawn area and connecting to the main walk of Connecticut Bluestone. Drip irrigation is used throughout the garden with water-conserving fescue sod lawn and drought-tolerant plantings with a top dressing of mini mulch within the planting areas to conserve moisture.
